The Belmont Shore 7s side are set to play against the Mexican National 7s team at Cal State Long Beach this Sunday at 10am!
Mexico currently play in only one IRB 7s tournament each year - the USA leg of the competition - and have suffered some heavy defeats during that time. As part of their preparation for the 2009/2010 season they sought out the 2009 USA National Club 7s champions Belmont Shore. It also helps that Belmont is located in Southern California, and if this event is successful it could becoming a regular derby.
National 7s MVP Peter Sio should lead a decent strength Belmont side - with some players from the Championship side unavailable. This will be a great chance to get some new faces game time against a team serious about 7s.
