THE WIZARD SCORES FIRST 4 POINT TRY!

1971: Emil 'the ladies man' Signes didn't just score 4 point tries...
"Did you know that 1971 was the first year for 4-point tries? Well this picture is from the first weekend of the 4-point try. You of course know that lifting, or even supporting, in the LO was illegal, leaving the stage to leapers, right?

Well, here is a recently-unearthed photo of THE Wizard leaping in a 1971 LO vs. Philadelphia (former national 15s coach George Betzler stands at the back of the Philly LO looking helpless indeed). What's really amazing is that, if you look at my feet (or the one that shows), I am AT LEAST 3 inches off the ground ...

Don't know if it's corner-worthy, but it has certainly amused me (it was just sent to me in the mail by ex-teammate and now Marco Barnard's coach at Kutztown, Gregg Jones)..." - The Wizard
"An absolute legend of the modern era as well" - The Corner
